Motorcycle Tires Metzeler
Motorcycle tyres (chicken strips)?
Are some tyres easier to get to the edge than others?
Now i can scrub tyre better than most people but are some easier than others?
i currently using Metzeler M5’s which have a very rounded shape so have found getting these within a couple of mm from the edge quite exciting lol
i think im going to try the new michelin this year an see they have more of a “V” shape and from what ive seen on other bikes most michelin seem to stick out quit a bit. (wider than the rim)
has anyone else found some tyres easier than others?
P.S Im not just going to be buying tyres for ease of scrubage… i am a very serious biker and getting the tyres to the edge is something i like to do (plus it looks good!) if i wanted to goin a straight line i’d by a car!!!
so please no “keep it on the track” comments!!!!
Buy the tyres you feel happy with.
I for one would rather cut my wrists then use Michelin tyre or Metzeler tyre, but each to their own.
Who care about lean angles? If you can lap the track faster then the other people in the race then thats all that matter.
As you posted this question in ” Motorcycle RACING” I will “keep my answers to the track” as that where you RACE motorbikes.
As for looking good, Ago never got his knee down and won 15 world titles. Like I say, who cares about lean angles.
All that matters in MOTORCYCLE RACING is winning.
If you want advice on how to ride a bike on the road. try the road section. Its under transport. So far I know of 3 users there who know what they are talking about.
